Hawkwood College is a centre for adult education surrounded by 40 acres of land. Stroud Community Agriculture, a biodynamic community farm, rents 24 acres of the farmland. The old walled garden which is open today is behind the house. For the last twenty years it has been managed biodynamically. It produces mainly herbs and flowers for the house as well as some vegetables for the kitchen. There is also an orchard planted in the 1970s with many varieties of apples and pears.

From Stroud town centre, go towards Gloucester on the A46. Directly after the Stratford Park roundabout turn right on to Painswick Old Road which leads towards Wick Street. Hawkwood is about a mile on the right. Drive up to the car park. Signs will direct to the walled garden.
