3 – Church Gate, The Plain, Whiteshill GL6 6AB

A vibrant kitchen garden and orchard carved out of a sunny hillside, enhancing biodiversity while producing food. Rabbit-proof fencing and edible hedgerows. The small orchard is full of wildflowers and butterflies. Families and children welcome. Bring a picnic to enjoy in the orchard – and a rug to sit on.
Talk to me about

  • ∗ Permaculture influences, ideas and plants
  • ∗Dealing with thin, stony soil (we have used a chisel and sledgehammer to plant fruit trees)

Go up Whiteshill. After church on right, turn left into Lower Street; car parking near community shop. Back on the main road, walk down approx 250m to Church Gate or walk down onto football pitch and go left through community orchard to garden gate in hedgerow.
